  1. I shared a story about when I was in a car accident on the way to find my cel phone I had lost the night before, and was on my way to meet the friend I was with the night before, when I was thrown off the road by black ice and was unable to meet up with them to go look for my phone. Though the accident did not involve other vehicles directly in the accident, it did involve the people who helped get me off the highway and get back home safely. I shared how the incident helped me take a second chance at life, and changed how I felt about the importance of carrying a cel phone. After experiencing a near death car accident, having a cel phone at all in my life, did not even matter to me anymore.

  2. So I had akward eye contact with a peeper back in the summer of 2004. My sisters and I were staying at my mom's house when she was out of town. It was late at night and I heard a noise outside of the bathroom window. I thought that it was my brother-in-law playing a trick on me, for that would not be abnormal. When I asked my sister what he was doing she looked at me like I was crazy and said he was sleeping downstairs. Which he was. After momentarily freakin out we, ran back upstairs to turn off the lights when I had eye contact with him in the window at the end of the hallway! I screamed and dove onto the office floor. Adam then ran outside to chase him down and we called the cops. The cops eventually came we searched the premisis for evidence where we found all of the ferns trampled out side of the bathroom window. Yikes!! When I tell this story to others I sometimes laugh because it was so freaky. I can't believe that it was so long ago, for I remember it so clearly.

  3. I will never forget the day that I met Joe Mauer! As most of my classmates know, I am a die-hard Twins fan, so I am sure they can imagine this day was huge. It was back in 2005 and I was working at Ficocello's Salon in St. Paul. It was a slow day at the salon. We were all just hanging out when I saw a really nice blacked out Tahoe pull into the parking lot. I remember staring at the window waiting to see who got out of this car. All of a suddent the door opens and it is Joe Mauer and former Twin Jason Bartlett. What were these guys doing over here? There was no way they were coming for a haircut because I already knew where Joe went, reading it in an article some time earlier. And then it clicked, he was going to visit his mom, Theresa, who worked over at St. Patrick's Guild (which was in the same building). I must have had a priceless look on my face because as they walked by I remember one of the girls saying, "Ash, do you know that guy?" "What do you mean do I know him, that was Joe Mauer!" Needless to say none of the girls knew who he was. Were they serious, how could they not? I remember standing there trying to think of an excuse to walk down to the other salon, maybe I'd bump into him. Was I crazy, how much of a stalker was I? Well I did it, I told the girls I would be back in a second and I walked out the door. Right as I was walking out there they were. Walking up the sidewalk towards me! I had to say something to him, but what? As they got closer I just said, "hey Joe, how's it goin?" He replied, "I'm good, how are you? Have I seen you before? You look really familiar." I replied, "No, I don't think so. I went to Sibley, my older brother played you guys in the state tournament a few years ago." He said, "thats it, you were there, in the front row at Midway!" I could not believe it, how could he remember that, how could he remember me? Whatever I didn't care, fact is he did and I don't think my smile could have gotten any bigger. Forget Jason Bartlett, I was smitten! The last thing I remember is congradulating him on his success with the Twins and that I was excited to see him play again. He responded with a smile, "hopefully I'll see you in the front row!" I will never forget that day. This in no way impacted my love for Joe! LOL
